Writers wanted nationwide

Hello guys and gurlz!

I am now part of a new publishing house based in Bangalore that is in urgent need of feature writers, both full-time and part-time. People with or without experience, but with a good command of English, and a flair for writing beautiful prose, can apply with samples of their writing (published or unpublished). The email ID is: emailthisjournalist at gmail dot com. Please note that writers need to be Bangalore-based or willing to settle down here for this position.

They would be working for a fortnightly travel and shopping guide where their job is to review hotels, restaurants, pubs, shops, spas, beauty parlours and malls among others. The job involves going to these places and reviewing it for us, which is why they need to be locals familiar with the place.

ANOTHER POSITION FOR A NATIONAL MAGAZINE FOR THE YOUTH

We are also looking for young reporters/writers who can feed us with the following news on a monthly basis for a new magazine we are launching for the youth aged 16-30 years. Even students who have a flair for reporting and writing can contribute for some of these sections.

The subjects range from campus news, PG/Hostel life news/personal experiences, trend stories on drugs, sex, alcohol, gambling, pubbing, partying and anything that involves the youth and the young working professional or the young parent figuring in our target group (16-30 years).

Therefore, the other subjects include office romance, do-it-yourself columns, gifting ideas for different seasons, success stories involving small enterprise/young entrepreneurs, cool hangouts in the various cities for the youth, “what’s new” in the city, be it product, places, trends, people; events dossier – a monthly roundup of stuff that’s happening in various cities, be it workshops, camps, adventure sports, theatre, music, dance, films, food, etc..; travel stories – weekend getaways, humour columns, cartoons, gaming experiences, hobby clubs, interesting human interest/people stories and stories of the supernatural, be it their own spooky experiences or ‘miracle’ healing at places of worship.

COLUMNISTS REQUIRED
For the national magazine, we are also looking at columnists who can contribute for free and in turn gain national mileage and peddle their services. People with relevant experience can mail their CV and a sample of their writing, so we can take this forward. Some of the sections, we are looking at are the following: Investment advice, Parenting, Fashion, Shopping or retail therapy, Youthspeak (over here, students can voice their opinion on anything they feel passionate about), Career guidance/alternative careers and relationship counseling.

Post your CVs & samples to emailthisjournalist at gmail dot com.
