Aishwarya sued by a farmer

Aishwarya Rai is always in the news for one thing or the other. If it’s not her envy rearing its ugly head when Sonam Kapoor was supposed to walk the ramp at Cannes, it’s her questionable land deals hogging the limelight. The latest is Thakre, a 69-year-old farmer claiming that his land was illegally bought by Ash to set up a windmill at Nandurbar in north Maharashtra.

While the regional authorities have rubbished his claims as false saying the real owner of the property (Thakre’s son) is dead and that he had entered into a agreement with Suzlon for Rs 82,000. While Thakre claims that only Rs 20,000 was received by his son, the authorities say that Thakre’s son received the full amount and they have evidence to point to that.

Thakre’s other claims that he was promised a job and 10% of the power hold no water since there is no written record to show for it. Therefore, the authorities have closed the case without further ado.

Ash seems to be following her father in law Amitabh Bachchan’s footsteps. He was in the news earlier for usurping agricultural lands claiming to be a farmer. After much public outcry, the actor had to give back the land, but this case seems to be small potatoes. So Ash can relax.
