It’s now well-known that Amitabh Bachchan has been hiding his bald days for some time now. That he wears a specially made wig for his public and personal avatar is fairly well-known in filmy circles. But since no one has been able to catch him without the wig, there has been no evidence about him going bald.
Got you? Well, that was just a joke, but what is not is that Big B has indeed gone bald for his new film, Paa. American make-up artistes work on his face for nearly four hours with prosthetics (read silicon) to make sure he doesn’t resemble himself but an alien.
Directed by R Balki who directed Big B in the saccharine comedy of manners, Cheeni Kum, this film also stars Big B’s son Abhishek who plays Amitabh’s father this time around. Quite a role reversal, but what remains to be seen is whether Balki is as successful this time around.
