Aishwarya, Bipasha losing out to younger actresses

Looks like age does matter, even if size doesn’t. Ask Aishwarya Rai and Bipasha Basu these days. If Aishwarya was replaced with the younger and lissome Sonam Kapoor in L’Oreal’s Indian advertising campaign, Bipasha Basu has lost out the sequel of Corporate to anothe newcomer Deepika Padukone. What’s more, she has also lost out on the sequel of Race to Kareena Kapoor. Ofcourse, it was Saif who made this happen and not really her age that was concerned.

But the truth still remains that age is fast catching up with Aishwarya and Bipasha. Comparatively, Ash is safer because she is already part of the influential Bachchan family household. But Bipasha is not only single, her beau John Abraham is moving closer to Katrina Kaif, if rumours are to be believed. And these rumour were not without reason. Apparently, Katrina and John got really close on the sets of New York, the latest film they are doing together. But then, it could well be for art’s sake. If they don’t share a good offscreen chemistry, how will that come alive onscreen?

We only hope, it remains just an act and both are back in each other’s arms – John and Bips.

But I pity Ash. Her role of a vamp in Pink Panther 2 was nothing to romp home about. She still needs a good break. No idea which movie will bring her back in the reckoning. Or will she retire gracefully? Or will she continue to do inconsequential films?
